ICS 4.0.3 Update Ran me into trouble, has to reflash with Android 2.3

I have used android advices to download ICS 4.0.3 .The last two upgrades crashed my phone. The last upgrade gave me a soft brick for several hours until I was able to do a reset and then a gingerbread flash. I thought the upgrades were OK whats up with Advices?
